Former Ghana international Jeffery Schlupp says he wants to repay manager Brendan Rodgers’ faith after switching to Celtic.

The 32-year-old versatile Ghanaian player signed a deal to join the Scottish giants on loan till the end of the season from Crystal Palace.

The former Leicester City marksman, who joined Celtic on transfer deadline day is expected to play a huge role for the club as they battle to defend the Premier League title and also make impact in Europe.

“I know players who have worked under the manager and they’ve always said the same thing – great coach, great guy and if you work hard for him he’ll be great for you.

“So that’s what I’m planning to do. I want to repay him for the faith he has in bringing me here, and hopefully I can do that with some good performances and hopefully we, as a squad, can achieve some great things.”

Schlupp made over 250 appearances for Crystal Palace before the departing the club in the recently concluded transfer window.

He was a member of the Leicester City squad that annexed the Premier League title back in 2016.
