Vinicius Junior has declared his ambition to become one of the greatest players in Real Madrid history after reaching 200 appearances for the Spanish giants.
The Brazilian winger, 24, achieved the milestone during Madrid’s recent La Liga clash, in which Federico Valverde’s dramatic stoppage-time goal kept the club firmly in the title race.
Although Vinicius had a goal ruled out due to a marginal offside against Endrick in the build-up, the moment marked a significant step in his journey at Madrid.
Reflecting on his evolution, he said: “I’ve reached this level thanks to a lot of hard work, a lot of sacrifices, and the help of everyone at this club – the coaches, the president, and the players.”
Joining Madrid as a teenager, Vinicius has grown into a key figure in Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
“I have to continue like this because I want to stay here for a long time, and I hope I can continue making history,” he added.
The Brazil international of Cameroonian descent credited his development to a strong work ethic and support from teammates.
“Almost everything: working with the team, my personal work at home, every day at Valdebebas, and the sacrifices we make to achieve everything that awaits us.”
Asked about handling pressure at a top club, Vinicius noted: “It’s normal when you arrive at such a big club at such a young age, that you learn how to deal with pressure as quickly as possible.
“I arrived at a very young age, and I learned over time.”
Now a central figure in Madrid’s squad, he emphasized his long-term vision: “We have to keep working, keep winning, and keep doing what we’re doing, which is winning everything with this shirt.
“This is history, and I want to go down in history and be one of the greats.”
