Brahim Diaz has made clear his intentions at Real Madrid, stating that his goal is to earn a consistent place in the starting lineup.
The 25-year-old forward, who returned to the club last season after a loan spell at AC Milan, shared his ambition during a press conference ahead of Real Madrid’s FIFA Club World Cup clash with RB Salzburg.
Born in Spain but represents the Moroccan national team, Brahim expressed confidence in his progression and readiness to play a more prominent role at the club.
“I always have the ambition to succeed here; I’ve always wanted to. I’m succeeding, and I want to be a starter,” he told reporters.
Brahim acknowledged the fierce competition within the Real Madrid squad, which boasts a wealth of elite talent in attacking positions.
“We know the competition there is. We’re among the best players in the world, and I want to give my all to be a starter.”
With the arrival of Kylian Mbappé, the battle for attacking spots has become even more intense.
However, Brahim welcomed the French star’s addition to the team.
“At first, I thought he was weak, to be honest, but now that he’s in the locker room, you can see Kylian is there. I’m really looking forward to his arrival because he’s a great player.”
Asked about teammate Rodrygo, Brahim was full of praise. “We know what a great player he is and how important he is to the team. We’re delighted with Rodrygo.”
