Dodi Lukebakio, a Belgian winger of Congolese descent, has articulated his commitment to Sevilla FC, opting to remain with the club for the rest of the season despite a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr during the January transfer window.
Al-Nassr was prepared to activate his €45 million release clause and proposed an annual salary of €8.5 million.
In an interview with AS, Lukebakio expressed his contentment with life in Seville, stating, “When you do things right, it is normal for some clubs to ask about you, although the truth is that I do not want to talk about it. That’s up to my agents.
“It is always nice that great teams are interested in you, but I have not thought of leaving Seville for a single second. Because I feel great on this team and in this city. It is the best place where I have lived. And my family, the same.
“The weather, the food, the light! Get up in the morning and see probably the best sunlight in the world. Where is such a light? Los Angeles? Africa? Seville is unique, wonderful.”
Lukebakio’s performance this season has been instrumental for Sevilla.
He has netted 10 goals in La Liga, positioning him fifth among the league’s top scorers, alongside Ayoze and Kike García, and trailing only Lewandowski, Mbappé, Raphinha, and Budimir.
