Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim remains optimistic about winger Amad Diallo’s return this season, despite the player’s recent ankle ligament injury sustained during training.
Diallo, who underwent surgery last month, was initially expected to be sidelined for the remainder of the season.
“Amad we will see in the last month,” said Amorim.
“I don’t want to say anything, but I have the hope to have Amad before the end of the season. Let’s talk about Sunday and we’ll see,” he added.
Before his injury, Diallo had been a standout performer for United, netting six goals in 22 Premier League appearances this season.
His contributions included a remarkable hat-trick in a 3-1 victory over Southampton on January 16, making him the second-youngest player to achieve this feat for the club, only behind Wayne Rooney.
Amorim’s hopeful outlook on Diallo’s recovery comes at a crucial time, as struggling Manchester United prepares to face high-flying Arsenal this Sunday. The manager’s confidence in Diallo’s potential return could provide a significant boost to the team’s morale and attacking options in the final stretch of the season.
