I don’t regret my decision to play for Morocco – Club Brugge forward Chamseddine Talbi

Club Brugge forward, Chamseddine Talbi says he has no regrets about opting to play Morocco at the international level.

Talbi who was born in Belgium earned a maiden call-up ahead of the Atlas Lions’ ahead of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Niger and Tanzania.

Speaking to Moroccan FA media, Talbi emphasized that he has absolutely no regrets about this choice, “despite the pressure” he faced from the Belgian Football Federation.

“This is the most important decision for me, in fact, the most decisive decision of my life, not my football career,” he stressed.

“Representing my country of origin stems from conviction and is not linked to any circumstances, as was reported.”

“I say while I am here, Morocco is always here, and this is what everyone who came before me to the same complex has repeated. I am very much looking forward to my first appearance, and I will do my best to make it to the next match (against Niger).”

“The enthusiasm that overwhelms me and my good feelings make me more optimistic about providing the contribution that the Moroccan public expects from me.”

The Moroccan national team is preparing to face Niger next Friday, and then Tanzania the following Tuesday.
