The head coach of the France national team, Didier Deschamps, has spoken highly of talented teenager Désiré Doué.
According to the experienced coach, he is not surprised by the outstanding performances of the French forward of Ivorian descent, because he has always known he had the potential to become a star.
“He went from Rennes, where he was doing good things, to PSG, where there were various steps to take and he took them all. I brought him into the France squad. I knew he had the potential, and I’ve obviously picked up information on his personality and things like that,” Deschamps said.
He added, “He’s able to play in attack and in midfield. He turns 20 on Tuesday (…). He does everything he needs to, but he doesn’t rest on his laurels.”
Désiré Doué, 19, starred in the final of the UEFA Champions League between PSG and Inter Milan.
He scored twice and also provided an assist to lead the Parisians to a 5-0 win over the Italians as PSG clinched their maiden UCL title.
