Hussein Labib, the Chairman of Zamalek’s Board of Directors, made a point to communicate with the first-team squad of the Zamalek Football Club currently in Algeria to extend congratulations to the players and coaching staff following their victory over Abu Salim in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Labib personally phoned Ahmed Suleiman, a member of the club’s board of directors and the head of the delegation, to convey his congratulations to the team.
Labib also reached out to Portuguese coach Jose Gomes to offer his felicitations. Gomes, in turn, assured Labib that the team would grow stronger with the continuation of matches.
The chairman of Zamalek was particularly keen to inquire about the condition of Ahmed Mustafa “Zizo,” a player who sustained an injury during the match.
Zamalek secured a valuable victory against Abu Salim with a score of 2-1 in the game held as part of the fifth round of group stage matches in the CAF Confederation Cup.
This win elevated the White Knights’ tally to 13 points, securing their position at the top of the group and advancing them to the quarter-finals.
