Hussein Ammouta to replace Mohamed Amine Benhachem as Wydad Casablanca head coach?
Moroccan powerhouse Wydad Casablanca is reportedly weighing the possibility of parting ways with head coach Mohamed Amine Benhachem amid a challenging period for the club.
According to Radio Mars, the club is actively reviewing applications from several potential candidates to take over the managerial role.
Among the frontrunners is Hussein Ammouta, a former Wydad coach who previously guided the team to an African Champions League triumph.
Ammouta’s résumé also includes leading the Jordan national team to a runner-up finish at the 2023 AFC Asian Cup.
He was reportedly in advanced talks to manage the Kuwait national team, though negotiations fell through due to financial disagreements.
Currently, Wydad sits second in the Moroccan Professional League, amassing 29 points from 12 games—just one point shy of archrivals Raja Casablanca, who have played three more matches.
