Hull City unlikely to pursue Terem Moffi despite transfer rumours

Terem Moffi is unlikely to move to England this summer, with Hull City reportedly yet to make a concrete approach for the Nigeria international.

The Championship club had been linked with a possible move for the 27-year-old striker, but no formal action is believed to have been taken to recruit him, according to information from Footy-Africa. The reports suggest Hull City are currently not actively pursuing a deal for the OGC Nice forward.

Moffi is expected to leave OGC Nice after his position at the French club became increasingly difficult during the second half of last season. He spent time on loan at FC Porto, but was unable to persuade the Portuguese side to retain his services permanently.

FC Porto, known as the Dragons, ultimately decided not to activate the purchase option included in the loan agreement. Moffi must therefore return to Nice while his representatives continue to search for a permanent destination.

The striker has already been linked with Everton and Leeds United, although neither possibility led to a transfer. His camp is now working to find a club where he can establish himself again and make a fresh start next season.

A move to Germany could provide one possible solution. Hamburger SV are reportedly monitoring Moffi’s situation, while Besiktas are also said to have shown an interest in the former Lorient player.

Moffi remains under contract with OGC Nice until 30 June 2027. His current market value is estimated at 8m euros by Transfermarkt, while his annual salary is reported to be 900,000 euros, equivalent to 585m CFA francs.

The forward’s future is expected to remain the subject of discussion as the transfer window progresses. However, despite the speculation surrounding a move to England, Hull City do not currently appear to have taken steps towards signing him.
