Sevilla FC Target Senegal’s Mohamed Diamé for Midfield Reinforcement
Seville, Spain — Sevilla FC have expressed interest in signing Senegalese international Mohamed Diamé, with negotiations reportedly underway for a potential move.
Currently sidelined with injury, Diamé has nonetheless impressed with his performances for Hull City in the first half of the English Championship season. The 27-year-old midfielder has caught the attention of several clubs, including Arsenal, but Sevilla are said to be leading the chase for his signature.
A move to Spain would mark a return to familiar territory for Diamé, who previously played in La Liga with Rayo Vallecano during the 2008–2009 season before launching a successful career in England with Wigan Athletic, West Ham United, and now Hull City.
Sevilla, known for their shrewd transfer dealings, are reportedly exploring the possibility of bringing Diamé to the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán either during the current transfer window or in the summer. The Andalusian club is seeking to add depth to their midfield as they continue to compete on multiple fronts, including La Liga and the UEFA Europa League.
While the deal is still in its early stages, Diamé’s experience, physicality, and familiarity with Spanish football could make him a strong addition to Unai Emery’s squad.
