Liverpool striker Hugo Ekitike is embracing his first taste of the Premier League’s hectic winter calendar, viewing the relentless run of fixtures as a challenge to enjoy rather than endure.
With Liverpool heading to face a strong Fulham side away from home, he knows nothing will come easy.
“It’s a good team. They have great players but I think maybe some have gone to AFCON. It’s going to be a tough game for us but we’re going to work and we will be ready,” Ekitike said, showing respect for the opposition while underlining Liverpool’s determination.
Asked about playing through the traditional English festive period, the forward admitted it still feels special. “It was obviously special to play around Christmas and the next day after New Year. It’s really exciting. I was in a position when I was watching on TV, so being here and able to play that kind of game is a blessing,” he reflected.
Looking ahead to a packed January, he added that the key now is to stay fit, recover quickly and be ready for every game in what promises to be a decisive month.
