Hugo Ekitike focused on momentum ahead of Wolves tests

Liverpool forward Hugo Ekitike says his main focus is keeping the team’s momentum rolling as the Reds head into a crucial double-header against Wolves this week.

The French striker spoke ahead of Tuesday’s Premier League trip to Molineux, with Liverpool coming off a 5-2 win over West Ham that extended their winning streak to four games in all competitions.

“It’s not even about the team that we face, it’s about the momentum,” Ekitike explained, stressing how important this phase of the campaign feels for the squad. “It’s the second part of the season where the games are important, when you can set everything to reach your goals.”

He expects Wolves to be a serious challenge but welcomes facing them twice in quick succession, noting that Liverpool will “have to be consistent” to get the results they want. Ekitike also underlined the value of a positive, united dressing room as the team push for a strong finish.

So far this season, the 23-year-old has registered 16 goals and 6 assists in 37 appearances across all competitions, underlining his growing influence in Liverpool’s attack.
