Hubert Velud, the French coach, has decided to contact FIFA after being dismissed by the Algerian club ES Sétif on September 7. Velud claims 21 months of unpaid salary and disputes the grounds for his termination. Despite the team’s good performance in Ligue 1, being undefeated with two wins and a draw, and a match in hand, Velud was dismissed due to the club’s financial difficulties. After winning the title, the club doubled his salary, and he extended his contract until June 30, 2015. Velud signed a two-year contract with ES Sétif in July 2012 and is reportedly being sought after by other clubs in North Africa.
