CS Constantine faces a potential setback ahead of their December 21 Ligue 1 showdown against NC Magra, with 28-year-old Algierian left-back Houari Baouche uncertain for the match due to muscle pain.
Baouche, who joined from USMA, picked up a leg injury during CS Constantine’s CAF Confederation Cup encounter with FC Bravos do Maquis on December 15. Despite the concern, the defender participated in training on Wednesday, after sitting out Tuesday’s session to avoid aggravating the issue.
The club revealed that Baouche underwent MRI scans, with the results still pending as of Thursday. His availability for the vital Ligue 1 match remains unclear.
Adding to Constantine’s injury woes, Zakaria Bouhalfaya and Mounder Temine are already ruled out for the fixture against NC Magra. With key players sidelined, CS Constantine will be hoping Baouche can recover in time to bolster their defense as they prepare for the challenge on Saturday.
