Hossam Hassan, the current head coach of Modern Future Club, is on the verge of assuming the role of coaching the Egyptian national team following the dismissal of Portuguese coach Roy Vitoria.
In recent days, officials at the Egyptian Football Association have leaned towards expressing gratitude to Vitoria for the disappointing results achieved by the Egyptian team in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Egyptian Football Association’s board of directors has decided to enlist the services of an Egyptian coach in the coming period, despite the failed experiment with Ehab Galal, who coached the Egyptian national team before his dismissal, followed by the hiring of Roy Vitoria.
Sources have revealed that there is currently a meeting taking place at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, bringing together Sports Minister Dr. Ashraf Sobhi and Hossam Hassan, to reach an agreement on his appointment as the new head coach of the Egyptian national team.
The Sports Minister is holding a special meeting with Hossam Hassan to finalize his appointment as the coach of the Egyptian national team for the upcoming period.
He will lead the Pharaohs through the remaining matches of the World Cup 2026 qualifying stage.
Hossam Hassan was among the final candidates considered for coaching the Egyptian national team, alongside Ali Maher, the head coach of El Masry Club, and Carlos Queiroz, the former head coach of the Egyptian national team.
