Hossam Al-Ammouta, the Moroccan coach of the Jordanian national team, expressed his dissatisfaction with the timing of Qatar’s goals, which didn’t favor the Jordanian side in the Asian Cup final, where they lost 3-1 against the defending champions at the Lusail Stadium.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Al-Ammouta remarked, “The flow of the final didn’t go as planned.

We struggled a lot in the first half, made passing errors, and failed to capitalize on the opportunities presented to us.”

Ammouta, 54, emphasized, “Players must train vigorously with their clubs, maintain their physical fitness, and enhance their ambition.

However, there are other factors we don’t discuss. Some players have abstained from training with their clubs due to internal issues.

When players join the national team, the coach bears the brunt of the blame, and we don’t talk about the fundamental factors.”

Commenting on the timing of penalty kicks, he noted, “The timing of the first penalty was tough on us.

It could have been avoided, but in the end, Abdullah Nseib’s exceptional performance throughout the tournament contributed to this achievement.”

He continued, “The team improved in the second half, and we managed to equalize, but the timing of the second penalty was difficult as we were gaining confidence.”

Ammouta added, “We needed to pay attention to such small details.

The players showed outstanding performance throughout the tournament, and what matters is the team’s significant progress, which opens up great prospects for its future.”

Regarding his future with the Jordanian national team, Ammouta concluded his remarks, saying, “Soon, I will discuss my future with the Jordanian national team. I have some circumstances, either to continue or to stop.”
