Morocco international Badr Benoun is set for sensational return to Raja Casablanca ahead of the summer transfer window.
The 31-year-old is currently a free agent after the parting ways with Qatar SC, making him eligible to sign for any club of his choice.
Raja Casablanca are said to have verbally agreed a deal to secure the re-signing of the defender heading into the new campaign. Badr Benoun is expected to sign a two-year contract with Casablanca-based club, who are keen to bolster their squad for the new campaign.
Before stints with Al Ahly (Egypt) and Qatar SC, the experienced defender had established himself at Raja, helping the team win numerous domestic and continental championships.
This season, Badr Benoun made 15 appearances this season for the Qatari and provided two assists across the period.
Benoun’s return comes after the club’s president, Abdellah Birwaine, was criticized by fans, especially after star scorer Houssine Rahimi moved for Al Ain (UAE) shortly after winning the 2024–25 league Golden Boot. Supporters who demanded more squad retention were incensed by the decision.
