Chelsea winger Noni Madueke’s personal coach, Saul Isaksson-Hurst, believes the youngster has the ability to elevate his game to a world-class level.
Isaksson-Hurst, who has worked closely with Madueke, is convinced that the 23-year-old can develop into one of the best in his position with the right mindset and dedication.
The English international of Nigerian descent, known for his skill and pace, has been a menace to defenders when fully fit. However, he has been sidelined since mid-February due to a hamstring injury, limiting his impact this season.
Chelsea have felt his absence on the wing, with the team struggling for attacking fluency at times.
The winger was recently seen back on the training pitch, raising hopes of a return after the March international break. His availability could provide Chelsea with an additional attacking threat as they look to finish the season strongly.
In discussing Madueke’s potential, Isaksson-Hurst referenced Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah as a benchmark for wingers aiming to reach the top of world football.
“Noni and I have been working together for over four years now… Noni is always going to be measured on goals and assists. So this is always at the core of our work… So, obviously movement, work around dominating the one-v-one duel work and end product,” he told Football.London.
“We have spoken about Salah. The guy at the moment is the level in world football. It’s important to not only give players like this respect but to also try and identify why they’re so successful. Maintaining his stats consistently is world-class.
“You have to recognise, though, Noni is further along on his journey than Salah was at the same age. Saying that, Noni knows that if he continues to work hard then he could and should be recognised as one of the world’s best down the line.”
