After more than two months since his arrival in Doubs, Hervé Renard, the 2012 African champion with Zambia, has secured his first victory in the championship. Sochaux emerged victorious with a 2-1 win over Rennes in the last Ligue 1 match of the year, allowing Renard to breathe a sigh of relief.
However, despite this success, Sochaux is far from achieving its objectives, still languishing at the bottom of the standings and facing the imminent threat of relegation. Renard acknowledges the challenging task ahead and emphasizes the need for reinforcements. The French technician is looking to bring in four new recruits to bolster the team.
“This success does not solve all our problems. The task remains difficult, but we have a little more hope. There are some high-quality boys in this team to whom we will need to add a few elements to gain strength. I hope to be able to count on four additional players at the start, even if we will do so according to means,” stated the Sochaux coach following the team’s success.
