Hertha BSC is in urgent need of a clinical striker to help propel them back to the Bundesliga, and Cameroonian forward Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting could be the answer, according to reports.
The second-division club has struggled to find the back of the net this season, and head coach Cristian Fiel has reportedly urged the club’s management to bring in a proven goalscorer.
Choupo-Moting, 35, has been without a club since leaving Bayern Munich in the summer of 2024 after four successful years at the Bavarian giants. The striker, who previously enjoyed spells at clubs like Paris Saint-Germain and Schalke, has not yet signed with a new team. Despite his age, Choupo-Moting remains eager to continue his career, having kept fit with individual training sessions in Munich.
Since the experienced striker is currently a free agent, Hertha BSC would not face the burden of a transfer fee, making the move financially appealing.
The club is keen to strengthen its attack, and Choupo-Moting’s wealth of experience could be the key to their promotion ambitions.
