Héritier Luvumbu has officially terminated his contract with Rwandan club Rayons Sport following his recent suspension by the Rwandan Football Federation. The Congolese winger’s departure from Rwanda marks a swift and dramatic end to his association with the club, as he now sets his sights on new football endeavors in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Rayons Sport, in an official statement posted on Twitter, announced the mutual agreement for the termination of Héritier Luvumbu’s contract.

The decision comes on the heels of a tumultuous sequence of events triggered by the player’s celebratory gestures during a goal celebration.

Luvumbu found himself in hot water as his actions prompted not only the club’s threat to release him but also a subsequent six-month suspension from all football-related activities in Rwanda by the national federation.

The saga unfolded rapidly, with the player swiftly parting ways with Rayons Sport and promptly returning to the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Despite being initially tied to the Rwandan club until June, the suspension and subsequent contract termination have left Luvumbu as a free agent.

Having previously played for AS Vita Club, the Congolese winger now enters a new phase in his career, unbound by contractual ties with Rayons Sport.

As speculations arise about his potential return to the DRC championship, Luvumbu’s future in football remains uncertain, yet ripe with possibilities for the talented player.
