Congolese defender Axel Tuanzebe has opened up on his time at Manchester United and the best teammate he played with at the club.
Speaking in a recent interview, the full-back, who can also play as a centre-back, named German legend Bastian Schweinsteiger as the best teammate he had at Manchester United.
According to him, the retired midfielder was not just an incredible player, but he was unbelievable with the things he could do with the ball.
“Bastian Schweinsteiger. He was, I think, like 34, 35 at the time, I could not get anywhere near him. I’m 19, I’ve got legs for days, but he was three, four, five steps ahead of me.
“He knew how to control the ball and make me off balance, so I’m running full pelt, boom, he’s taken this. In the box, incredible… he had an ability to slow down time,” Tuanzebe said.
Axel Tuanzebe and Bastian Schweinsteiger played together at Manchester United between 2015 and 2017.
Although it was a short time, Tuanzebe is 100% sure that the German made an impact on his career.
