Hawasa Ketema step up interest in Fasil Kenema winger Kalkidan Zelalem

Ethiopian winger Kalkidan Zelalem is being linked with a move from Fasil Kenema to Hawasa Ketema in the Ethiopian Premier League.

Zelalem, 27, plays on the right wing and has been with Fasil Kenema since September 2023, when he joined from Wolayta Dicha. The proposed transfer would keep the player in Ethiopia’s top division, with both clubs competing in the Premier League.

He has made 54 Premier League appearances during his career, scoring five goals and providing three assists. Zelalem’s current market valuation is €125,000, making him one of the more established attacking players to be associated with a potential move between the two clubs.

The Addis Ababa-born player began his senior career with Ethiopia Bunna before spells at Dedebit FC, Sebeta and Wolayta Dicha. He moved to Fasil Kenema after the 2022-23 campaign and has since continued to feature as a right-sided attacker.

A transfer to Hawasa Ketema would therefore represent Zelalem’s fifth club in Ethiopian football. The rumour concerns a move within the Premier League, but it has not been confirmed as completed, and Zelalem remains a Fasil Kenema player.
