Hassan Hamdy stands firm on brother Mahmoud Hamdi El-Wensh’s Zamalek loyalty
Hassan Hamdy, brother of Zamalek’s stalwart defender Mahmoud El-Wensh, revealed the heartfelt reason behind the player’s recent contract extension with the club.
Mahmoud, 29, secured a three-year deal, driven purely by his deep connection to Zamalek, despite his contract nearing its end this season. Speaking candidly, Hassan shared that Mahmoud’s commitment stems from respect for the club’s leadership and a genuine bond with the team known as the White Castle.
In exclusive remarks to Kooora, Hassan said, “The player renewed his contract with Zamalek without conditions because he respects the White Castle.”
“The blank signing is not out of fear of the fans, but to demonstrate good faith and confirm his love for the White Knights.
Hassan was adamant about Mahmoud’s loyalty, stating, “Anyone who loves Zamalek will not sell the team. We have not sat down to negotiate with Al-Ahly, and anyone who has a photo of El-Wensh signing with Al-Ahly officials should show it.”
