Hakimi ruled out of Bayern second leg in big blow for PSG

Achraf Hakimi will miss Paris Saint-Germain’s Champions League semi-final second leg against Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena after suffering a serious muscle injury.

Journalist Fabrice Hawkins of RMC Sport reports that the right-back underwent medical tests on Wednesday which confirmed a hamstring tear.

“Achraf Hakimi is out for the Bayern Munich/PSG return leg match. He got injured last night. Medical tests carried out this afternoon have confirmed a hamstring tear,” Hawkins explained, noting the defender picked up the problem in the first leg during a duel with Konrad Laimer. PSG will now be hoping he can return in time for the final stretch of the season, with crucial matches still to come domestically and in Europe if they progress.

This will be a major blow for the club, who are fighting to secure trophies on multiple fronts this season. Fans will also be devastated because Hakimi is a fan favourite and a key part of PSG’s attacking threat down the right. Without him, Luis Enrique will have to shuffle his defence and rely on alternatives in one of the most demanding fixtures of their campaign.
