Hakim Ziyech’s future at Galatasaray appears uncertain following a series of controversial remarks attributed to the Moroccan winger.
The 31-year-old, who was notably absent from the squad for Monday’s 4-3 win over Trabzonspor, is reportedly at odds with the club’s management, including coach Okan Buruk.
Turkish journalist Haluk Yürekli, citing sources close to the club, claims that Ziyech made disparaging comments about Galatasaray and its coaching staff, fueling speculation about his exit in the upcoming January transfer window.
According to the report, Ziyech expressed frustration with his current situation, saying, “Galatasaray, it’s over for me. I don’t want to play, I’m leaving in January.”
When further questioned about the club’s prospects, Ziyech reportedly added, “I don’t really care… Let them leave me alone, whatever happens.
I already regret coming.” These comments reflect a deep dissatisfaction with his time at the Turkish club, leaving fans and pundits alike questioning his commitment and future with the team.
The tension between Ziyech and his coach, Okan Buruk, is also said to be a major factor in the player’s discontent.
When asked about Buruk, Ziyech allegedly stated, “I’ve never seen a coach as bad as Okan Buruk,” signaling a breakdown in their professional relationship.
This harsh critique of the coach, combined with the winger’s apparent desire to leave, has only intensified speculation that his tenure at Galatasaray may be coming to an end sooner rather than later.
Further fueling the rumors of his departure, images surfaced showing Ziyech leaving Istanbul airport, which many interpreted as a sign that his exit from the club is imminent.
Ziyech’s arrival at Galatasaray in the summer had generated much excitement, but his time in Turkey has been marked by underwhelming performances and tensions behind the scenes.
If his reported comments are accurate, it seems increasingly likely that the former Ajax star will be seeking a new challenge in January, potentially leaving Galatasaray in search of a replacement.
