Haggag Oweis: Delphi SC sign Egyptian defensive midfielder on free transfer from Tanta SC

Delphi SC have signed Egyptian defensive midfielder Haggag Oweis from Tanta SC on a free transfer, completing a move within the domestic pyramid on 6 July 2026.

The 29-year-old, who plays primarily as a holding midfielder, joins Delphi after a single season at Tanta, having moved there from Qanah FC in July 2025. His switch continues a period of frequent movement in his career, with this the fourth change of club in less than two years.

Oweis has spent his entire professional career in Egypt and brings extensive experience from several clubs in the national game. Before his time at Tanta and Qanah, he played for Petrojet and Zed FC, following a long spell with El Masry SC that included a loan to El Dakhlia SC in the 2018-19 campaign.

His market valuation has fluctuated over the years, peaking at around 200,000 during his time at El Masry, before later assessments reflected reduced figures as he moved between clubs. The most recent recorded valuation, during his spell at Petrojet in early 2024, listed him with no transfer value, underlining the free nature of his subsequent moves.

Born on 5 September 1996, Oweis adds an experienced, domestic profile to Delphis midfield options, with a career shaped by regular competition at established Egyptian sides and a specialist role in front of the defence.

The completed transfer strengthens Delphi SCs central options with a seasoned Egyptian league campaigner acquired without a transfer fee.
