Hafid Abdessadek, assistant coach of Raja Casablanca, has been appointed interim manager following the departure of Portuguese coach Ricardo Sá Pinto.
Sá Pinto parted ways with the Moroccan club by mutual consent after a series of disappointing results.
Abdessadek took charge of the team’s training session on Friday and is set to lead Raja in their upcoming match against Chabab Mohammedia.
The fixture, which marks the final game of the first leg of the professional championship, will take place this Sunday at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca.
There is a strong possibility that Abdessadek will remain at the helm for at least two more matches.
Raja is scheduled to face Difaâ Hassani El Jadida on Wednesday in a match postponed from the 14th round of the league.
Following this, the team will head directly to Berkane for a highly anticipated clash against Renaissance Berkane next Sunday, part of the 16th round of the championship.
Raja’s management is reportedly proceeding cautiously in their search for a permanent head coach.
Determined to avoid repeating past mistakes, they aim to conduct a thorough evaluation before making a new appointment.
The club’s recent coaching tenures, including those of Rusimir Cviko and Ricardo Sá Pinto, failed to yield the desired results, prompting a more measured approach this time around.
As the team navigates a critical period in its season, Abdessadek will be tasked with stabilizing the squad and securing positive results in the interim.
