François Kamano is attracting growing interest from Turkey’s top clubs following an impressive season with Damac FC in Saudi Arabia. With his contract set to expire on June 30, the Guinean winger could be on the move this summer.
Kamano, 29, played a pivotal role in Damac’s campaign, helping secure early promotion to the Saudi Pro League.
His tally of four goals and two assists in 30 appearances has not gone unnoticed, with both Beşiktaş and Fenerbahçe reportedly keen on securing his signature.
Beşiktaş, who clinched European qualification with a fourth-place finish in the Süper Lig, have emerged as front-runners in the race.
According to sources close to the negotiation, the Istanbul side has entered advanced talks with Kamano’s representatives and have tabled a formal two-year contract offer, including an option for a third season.
Fenerbahçe, runners-up in the Turkish league, are also monitoring the situation.
While the Yellow Canaries have made contact with Kamano’s camp, negotiations are said to be at a more exploratory stage, with no formal offer presented yet.
Currently on holiday in his native Guinea, Kamano was recently honoured at the CIS Awards, an event that celebrates West African football excellence.
The former Bordeaux and Lokomotiv Moscow player received the Social Impact Award and spoke briefly about his future.
“My agents are working on the file. My contract is ending, I’m in no rush; the team is managing, Return to Europe? Why not. There are some leads, in any case, but for now, we’re waiting.”
Also interested in the Guinean international is Neom SC, a newly promoted side to the Saudi Pro League.
The club is said to be considering an offer to retain Kamano in Saudi Arabia, highlighting his appeal both at home and abroad.
Valued at €2.5 million by Transfermarkt, Kamano appears poised to take the next step in his career.
Whether that will be a return to Europe with one of Istanbul’s football powerhouses or a continued stay in Saudi Arabia remains to be seen.
What is certain, however, is that Kamano is entering the summer window with strong leverage and options that align with his ambition.
