Guinean attacking midfielder Sékou Tidiany Bangoura has emerged as one of the most sought-after young players on the European market, with FC Lorient and Maccabi Tel Aviv both pushing to secure his signature ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.

Following a breakthrough campaign in Bulgaria, the 23-year-old has attracted growing interest across the continent. According to reports from Africasoccer, the two clubs have already tabled formal offers, each proposing a two-year contract to the promising midfielder, who is now carefully weighing his options alongside his representatives.

Bangoura, currently on the books of Israeli side Ironi Kiryat Shmona, spent the season on loan from Istanbul Basaksehir and made 24 appearances, netting once and providing an assist.

His consistent displays and versatility in midfield were enough to convince Kiryat Shmona to trigger the purchase clause in his contract, making the deal permanent.

However, despite being officially tied to the Israeli club for two more seasons, Bangoura’s future remains uncertain.

Speaking to Africafoot, the Guinean international confirmed the activation of the purchase clause but admitted he may still depart this summer. “I joined Kiryat Shmona with a mandatory purchase option.

At the break, I was already looking to change clubs, but Basaksehir’s deal was delayed. Ultimately, the option was exercised, and I’m now tied to Kiryat for two seasons.

That said, my future isn’t yet set in stone. Several clubs are following me closely,” Bangoura explained.

Beyond FC Lorient and Maccabi Tel Aviv, other clubs are also monitoring the midfielder’s situation. Maccabi Haifa, a longtime admirer, has reportedly intensified its interest and is said to be eager to add him to their midfield options after tracking him for the past two seasons.

Meanwhile, in Russia, FK Nizhny Novgorod has joined the list of potential suitors, while newly promoted Portuguese side FC Alverca has already initiated discussions with the player’s camp.

Negotiations with Alverca are said to be progressing positively, with both sides engaging in what sources describe as constructive dialogue. A decision on Bangoura’s next destination is expected in the coming weeks, likely before the official opening of the transfer window.

The player is currently valued at €450,000 on Transfermarkt—a fee considered affordable for clubs seeking to invest in emerging talent.

Bangoura’s development over the last season has not gone unnoticed. His agility, quick decision-making, and attacking intelligence have made him a standout performer in Israel’s top flight.

Though his goal and assist tally might not dazzle on paper, scouts have been impressed by his movement off the ball, ability to link play, and tactical awareness—attributes that have made him a consistent starter for his side.

For FC Lorient, newly promoted to France’s Ligue 1, Bangoura represents an opportunity to reinforce their midfield with a player capable of thriving in a competitive environment. Maccabi Tel Aviv, on the other hand, sees him as a key piece in its continued pursuit of domestic dominance and European presence.

As Bangoura prepares for what could be the most pivotal summer of his career, the midfielder remains focused but open-minded. With interest from multiple leagues and countries, his next move will not only shape the trajectory of his professional journey but could also signal the arrival of a new Guinean talent on Europe’s biggest stages.
