Feyenoord have opted not to trigger the purchase clause in Ibrahim Osman’s loan deal, bringing the Guinean international’s stint in Rotterdam to an early conclusion.
The 20-year-old winger, who joined the Dutch giants on loan from Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion, failed to make a lasting impression during his temporary spell.
Despite being given the opportunity to prove himself in the Eredivisie, the young forward could not secure a long-term future at De Kuip.
Feyenoord had the option to make Osman’s move permanent at the end of the season, but the club has decided against activating the clause.
With the decision now made, Osman is set to return to Brighton, where his future remains uncertain.

While Osman’s raw talent and potential were clear, his performances in the Dutch top flight did not meet Feyenoord’s expectations for a long-term addition to their attacking line.
His limited impact on the pitch meant the club’s technical staff and management saw no justification in committing to a full transfer.
Osman’s departure marks the end of a loan stint that began with promise but ultimately failed to yield the desired results for either party.
The winger struggled to find consistency, and with Feyenoord chasing domestic and European ambitions, the bar was set high for any incoming talent.
In addition to Osman, other loanees also made their return to parent clubs.
However, in their cases, there were no options to buy included in their contracts, making their exits straightforward and expected.
As Feyenoord prepare for another season aiming to challenge at the top of the Eredivisie, attention will now turn to securing reinforcements that can contribute more decisively to their attacking setup.
The club remains active in the transfer market, focused on refining a squad capable of both domestic success and progress in Europe.
For Osman, the coming weeks may prove pivotal as he returns to Brighton and assesses the next steps in his career.
Whether his future lies in England or elsewhere, he will be seeking a fresh start and another chance to showcase the potential that once made him a player to watch.
