Borussia Dortmund 3-0 : Serhou Guirassy strikes twice

Guinea forward Serhou Guirassy could make history for Borussia Dortmund if he scores in Wednesday’s Champions League second-leg tie against Atalanta Bergamo.

The 29-year-old striker is currently just one goal shy of reaching 20 career goals in Europe’s elite club competition.

Guirassy was instrumental in Dortmund’s 2-0 victory in the first leg, contributing both a goal and an assist, and has now tallied 19 goals in 27 Champions League appearances. He was also the competition’s top scorer in the 2024/25 season with 13 goals.

Scoring in Bergamo would place Guirassy in an elite group of forwards to reach 20 Champions League goals in so few matches. Legends such as Filippo Inzaghi, Ruud van Nistelrooy, and Alessandro Del Piero required more games to reach the same milestone, while contemporary stars like Harry Kane and Erling Haaland achieved it even faster.

Dortmund will be relying on Guirassy once again, hoping the Guinea international can replicate his first-leg heroics and help secure a place in the Champions League round of 16.
