Guinea: $50,000 Reward Delivered to Syli National Staff After AFCON Qualification
The technical staff of Guinea’s Syli National is reaping the rewards of their hard-fought qualification for the 2015 African Cup of Nations. Despite having to play all their home matches in Morocco due to the Ebola outbreak, the team successfully secured their place in the tournament.
During a press conference on Wednesday, it was announced that the promised $50,000 bonus from businessman Kerfala Person Camara (KPC), president of Hafia FC, had officially been handed over.
“The president of the Guico-Press group had promised $50,000. But no one ever questioned whether we received this sum or not. It has now been done. We waited for this press conference to give it to the coach who will then give it to his players,”
said Ibrahima Blasco Barry, Secretary General of the Guinean Football Federation (Feguifoot).
He also extended gratitude to various stakeholders for their support during the qualification campaign:
Club presidents who funded fan travel and ticket purchases
Regional league heads
Dedicated supporters who backed the team in Casablanca
Coach Michel Dussuyer acknowledged the generous gesture and expressed the team’s appreciation, emphasizing how vital the support had been throughout their journey.
