Antonio Dumas Appointed Head Coach of Hafia FC
Brazilian coach Antonio Dumas Carvalho has officially taken over as head coach of Hafia Football Club in Guinea. The former national team coach of Togo, among other African sides, signed a one-year renewable contract and was formally presented to the press.
The unveiling ceremony was attended by Hafia FC President Kerfalla Camara KPC, a representative of the Guinean Football Federation, and several football legends, including Petit Sory, Calva, and Papa Camara, stars of the club’s golden era.
Promoted to Guinea’s first division after a stint in the lower league, Hafia FC aims to reclaim its historic status and compete with the country’s top clubs. The management has entrusted this ambitious mission to Dumas, a seasoned coach on the African continent with previous stints at Gabon, São Tomé and Príncipe, Equatorial Guinea, and Togo.
Hafia FC, a powerhouse of the 1970s, famously won the African Champions League three times, becoming the first club to achieve this feat. The appointment of Dumas marks a new chapter in the club’s effort to return to the pinnacle of African football.
