Guediawaye FC bring in Senegal right-back Amadou Coly on free transfer
Senegalese right-back Amadou Coly has joined Guediawaye FC from AJEL Rufisque on a free transfer, strengthening the Ligue 1 club’s options at full-back.
The 23-year-old completed the move on 14 August 2026 and has signed a contract with Guediawaye running until 30 June 2028. Coly becomes the latest player to switch clubs within Senegal’s top flight after two seasons with AJEL Rufisque.
Coly made 11 Ligue 1 appearances during his time at AJEL, playing 529 minutes. He arrives at Guediawaye as a specialist right-back whose preferred foot is his right, offering the club an established option in a defensive position.
Born in Ziguinchor on 15 September 2002, Coly stands 1.80m tall and has represented clubs exclusively in Senegal. Before joining AJEL Rufisque, he played for Ouakam, completing that move in September 2024.
His senior career also includes a spell with Casa Sports, where he played before moving to Ouakam in September 2023. The sequence of transfers has kept Coly within the domestic game, with his latest switch taking him to Guediawaye FC for the next stage of his career.
Guediawaye were Coly’s first club listed in the current transfer, while AJEL Rufisque were the side he left to make the move. Both clubs compete in Ligue 1, meaning the defender remains in the same division after changing employers.
Coly’s market value was listed at €25,000 at the time of the transfer, while his highest recorded value was €50,000. The move itself was completed without a fee, and Guediawaye have secured his services through the end of the 2027-28 season.
The agreement gives Coly a two-year deal from the date of his arrival, with the contract formally expiring on 30 June 2028. His move from AJEL Rufisque to Guediawaye FC was completed on 14 August 2026.
