Mathieu Dossevi’s transfer to Olympiacos Piraeus is now official. The former Valenciennes and Le Mans midfielder has taken a major step in his career by joining the reigning Greek champions, as announced by the club on July 7, 2014.
Dossevi becomes the third French player to join Olympiacos during that transfer window, following Arthur Masuaku and Éric Abidal. While the club hasn’t publicly disclosed the duration of the contract, reports suggest it is a three-year deal.
The move might also bring him closer to the Togolese national team, which has been courting him for years — a natural link given that his brother Thomas Dossevi is a former Togo international and accompanied him to Greece. On social media, both brothers expressed their excitement, with Thomas tweeting “Olympiakos!!!!!! Congratulations bro!! #proud #family” and Mathieu himself saying:
“A new challenge is opening up for me, I am officially signed with @olympiacos_org. I can’t wait to start in my new colors.”
In parallel, Olympiacos also made the signing of Delvin Ndinga permanent after his loan from AS Monaco, signaling their intent to strengthen the squad for both domestic and European ambitions.
This move offers Dossevi a chance to play Champions League football and compete for titles, potentially boosting his international prospects as well.
