Gradisar set for Ceramica Cleopatra loan after Al Ahly reach agreement

Slovenia forward Nejc Gradisar is close to joining Ceramica Cleopatra on loan after Al Ahly reached an agreement with the Egyptian Premier League club over a deal for this summer.

An Al Ahly source told FilGoal.com: “توصلنا الى اتفاق مع سيراميكا كليوباترا بشان اعارة جراديشار” – confirming that only final formalities now separate the 23-year-old striker from a move.

Al Ahly have reshaped their attack during the current transfer window, bringing in two foreign forwards – Morocco’s Sofian Benjdida and Algeria’s Mounsef Bekrar – which has opened the door for Gradisar to leave in search of more regular football.

Ceramica move to replace departing Lakay

Ceramica Cleopatra are targeting Gradisar to fill the vacancy created by the departure of Fakhriddine Ben Youssef Lakay, who has joined Libyan side Ahli Tripoli.

The club see the Slovenian as a like-for-like attacking option capable of stepping straight into the frontline following Lakay’s exit.

Gradisar has already been in action for Al Ahly in pre-season, featuring in a friendly against Al Nasr Cairo in which he scored twice. His performance came under the watchful eye of Al Ahly’s new head coach, Moroccan boss Hussein Amouta, who was observing his squad as he assesses options ahead of the new campaign.

Recent loan spell in Hungary –

Gradisar spent the second half of last season away from Cairo, on loan at Hungarian side Ujpest from Al Ahly. He made 13 appearances for the Budapest club, scoring once during his time in the Nemzeti Bajnoksag I.

The striker originally joined Al Ahly in January 2025 from Hungarian outfit Fehervar, arriving in Egypt as a young overseas signing with potential to develop in the African champions’ set-up.

International experience with Slovenia —

On the international stage, Gradisar has been capped three times by Slovenia. He has scored one goal for the national team across those appearances.

The proposed loan to Ceramica Cleopatra would give him the chance of more consistent first-team football in the Egyptian Premier League, while allowing Al Ahly to manage their expanded foreign attacking options following the arrivals of Benjdida and Bekrar.
