Gouna complete 13-man squad overhaul with 10 new signings and three loan renewals

Gouna have announced 13 incoming deals, including 10 new arrivals and the extension of three loan agreements, as they reshape their squad ahead of the new Egyptian Premier League season.

The Red Sea club, who are preparing for a second consecutive campaign under head coach Ahmed Mostafa “Bebo”, have moved aggressively in the transfer market to reinforce all areas of the pitch.

Last season Gouna finished 11th in the Egyptian Premier League with 46 points, the highest points tally in the club’s top-flight history, and they are now looking to build on that campaign with a significantly revamped group.

Ten new faces arrive

Gouna have secured 10 permanent signings from four different clubs, targeting defensive solidity, creativity in midfield and greater attacking depth.

From Haras El Hodood, defender Islam Abu Salima joins to strengthen the back line.

Right-back Ahmed Ghoneim arrives from Petrojet to add competition on the flanks.

The club have also completed a cluster of deals with Ceramica Cleopatra. Midfielder Mohamed Reda, fellow midfielder Ziad El Shayat and winger Alaa Shaaban all move from Ceramica Cleopatra, along with goalkeeper Islam Emad “Resha”.

Three further additions come from Enppi. Defender Ahmed Sherif bolsters the central defensive options, while winger Salah Zayed and forward Ahmed Zaki increase the attacking choices available to Bebo.

The list of newcomers is rounded off by defender Marwan Essam, who joins from Pyramids.

Three loan deals extended

Alongside the permanent transfers, Gouna have retained three players who were already at the club by renewing their loan agreements.

Left-back Khaled Ahmed continues on loan from Enppi, providing continuity on the left side of defence.

From Ceramica Cleopatra, midfielder Omar Magdy “El Gazzar” extends his stay after featuring for Gouna last season.

Defender Mostafa Matawa also remains with the team following the renewal of his loan from Modern Sport.

Building on record points tally

Ahmed Mostafa “Bebo” remains in charge for a second straight season, giving Gouna stability in the dugout as they integrate a large number of new players.

The club’s 11th-place finish and 46-point haul in the previous Egyptian Premier League campaign represented their best-ever points total in the competition.

Gouna will now look to turn that record tally into further progress in the forthcoming season, with a reshaped squad constructed around a blend of new signings and familiar loanees.
