Cameroonian goalkeeper, Andre Onana has been left out of the Manchester United squad for the game against Newcastle United in the English Premier League this weekend.
The goalkeeper was in the post for the English side last Thursday when the team played against Olympique Lyon in their first leg meeting in the quarter-final of the Europa League.
In that game that ended 2-2, Andre Onana was not just unimpressive but unconvincing as well.
As a result, he has been massively criticised by fans who believe he cost the team the three points from the Lyon match.
Amid the unending criticism, Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has excluded Andre Onana from his matchday squad for Sunday’s match against Newcastle United.
Sources have indicated that the manager has had a conversation with the underfire goalkeeper an encouraged him to disconnect and reset mentally.
It is unclear whether Andre Onana will return to the Manchester United squad for the reverse fixture against Olympique Lyon or not.
The crucial game will be played at Old Trafford on Thursday, April 17.
