Ghana’s Kamaldeen Sulemana suffers injury ahead of Southampton’s fixture against Newcastle

Ghana winger, Kamaldeen Sulemana, will be unavailable for Southampton’s upcoming Premier League fixture against Newcastle United due to a minor injury.

Southampton manager Ivan Jurić confirmed the setback, revealing that the exciting youngster has suffered a slight hamstring issue, prompting the club’s medical team to exercise caution.

“He won’t play against Newcastle as he has a little injury. He has a little problem with his hamstring, and our medical staff are worried about that because he had problems in the past,” Jurić said, as quoted on the club’s official website.

Despite the setback, the Southampton boss remains optimistic about Sulemana’s swift recovery, indicating that the winger is expected to return to training early next week.

“I think, I hope, it’s nothing, and from Monday, he’ll start training with the team,” Jurić added.

Southampton will host Newcastle United at St. Mary’s Stadium on Saturday, January 25, with kickoff set for 3:00 PM.
