Ghana’s Black Queens will step up their preparations for the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) with a training camp in Senegal, featuring two friendly matches against the Teranga Lionesses.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed that the national women’s team will hold a nine-day camp in Dakar from April 1 to 9, 2025.
Under the guidance of head coach Kim Lars, the Black Queens will use the period to fine-tune tactics and enhance team chemistry ahead of the continental tournament in Morocco.
Senegal Friendlies to Test Ghana’s Readiness
As part of their training program, Ghana will take on Senegal in two friendly encounters scheduled for April 5 and April 8.
These matches will serve as crucial tests for the squad, allowing them to identify strengths and address weaknesses before facing top-level competition at the Women’s AFCON.
The upcoming announcement of Lars’ squad is expected to give a clearer picture of the team’s final composition for the tournament.
Placed in Group C, Ghana faces a challenging path, with defending champions South Africa, Mali, and Tanzania as group-stage opponents.
After a disappointing group-stage exit in 2018 and missing out on the 2022 edition, the Black Queens are eager to make an impact in Morocco.
The training camp in Senegal is seen as a pivotal step in their bid to reclaim their place among Africa’s elite teams.
