Ghana's Antoine Semenyo aims to drive Man City forward after claiming Player of the Month

Manchester City’s latest standout performer, Antoine Semenyo, has shifted his focus toward the club’s silverware pursuit after being named the Premier League Player of the Month for February 2026.

The Ghanaian international, who joined the Premier League champions in a £64 million move from AFC Bournemouth in January, received the accolade on Friday following a sensational debut month at the Etihad Stadium.

Despite the individual recognition, the 26-year-old forward emphasized that his primary goal is contributing to the team’s collective success during the final stretch of the campaign.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Semenyo insisted that he is not resting on his laurels.

“My focus now is on continuing to improve and helping City to achieve the best possible results,” he stated. “We have so much to play for and I am really excited about this final period of the season.”

Semenyo’s impact in February was undeniable, as he recorded three goals and an assist in five appearances, including crucial strikes against Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham.

By claiming the award, he became the first City player other than Erling Haaland to win the monthly prize since 2021.

He also joined an elite group of Ghanaians to win the trophy, following legends Tony Yeboah and Andre Ayew.

Now, with City competing on multiple fronts, Semenyo’s explosive form and commitment to improvement make him a vital asset for Pep Guardiola’s side as they hunt for more trophies.
