Ghana winger Henry Addo joins Tondela from Maccabi Tel Aviv
Ghana winger Henry Addo has joined Portuguese club Tondela from Maccabi Tel Aviv, switching to the Liga Portugal 2 side on 19 August 2026.
The 23-year-old left-sided attacker has signed a contract with Tondela until 30 June 2028. Addo, who is predominantly a left winger and favours his right foot, moves to Portugal after two and a half years with Maccabi Tel Aviv.
Addo joined the Israeli club from Slovakian side MSK Zilina in February 2024 for €500,000. During his time at Maccabi, he was part of the squad that won two Israeli league titles, in the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons. He also helped the club win the Israel Super Cup in 2024-25.
The Ghanaian spent the 2025-26 season on loan at Serbian club OFK Beograd. That spell ended on 30 June 2026, when he returned to Maccabi Tel Aviv before making his next move.
Addo began his European career with MSK Zilina after progressing from Zilina Africa. He joined MSK Zilina’s under-19 side in October 2021 before moving into the club’s senior structure and subsequently earning a transfer to Maccabi Tel Aviv.
His arrival gives Tondela a player with experience of football in Ghana, Slovakia, Israel and Serbia. Addo is 1.80m tall and joins the Portuguese club with a market value of €500,000.
The move comes at the start of the 2026-27 campaign. Addo had not made an appearance in Tondela’s listed Europa League qualifying or Aluf haAlufim fixtures before completing the switch, and his new contract now ties him to the Portuguese club through June 2028.
