Ghana has slipped to 77th in the latest FIFA World Rankings, continuing its recent decline. The Black Stars, who reached the quarter-finals of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, have fallen four places from their previous position of 73rd. This drop comes after a disappointing month, during which Ghana was held to a 1-1 draw against Angola and suffered a shock 1-2 defeat at home to Niger.
Despite this setback, Ghana remains in 14th position among African nations, though their global ranking has taken a hit.
Meanwhile, Niger, propelled by a 4-0 win over Sudan and a victory against Ghana, has enjoyed a remarkable rise in the rankings.
The Menas climbed nine spots, moving from 131st to 122nd.
At the top of the African standings, Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, Algeria, and Nigeria continue to hold strong positions in the rankings.
Globally, Argentina remains at number one, followed by France, Spain, England, and Brazil in the top five.
For Ghana, this drop serves as a stark reminder of the challenges ahead as they look to recover and improve their standing in international football.
