Kofi Amoako has recovered from his recent health problems and returned to training with Hamburger SV.

The midfielder joined his teammates during Tuesday’s session, providing a welcome boost as he works toward full competitive readiness.

The 22-year-old began his football education at VfL Wolfsburg, progressing from the club’s under-17 side during the 2020-21 season to the under-19 team the following campaign. His development eventually earned him a first-team opportunity, and he made two brief Bundesliga appearances for Wolfsburg during the 2023-24 season.

Amoako then moved to VfL Osnabruck on loan for the 2024-25 campaign. The spell in the 3. Liga gave him valuable senior experience before he joined SG Dynamo Dresden permanently ahead of the 2025-26 season.

HSV signed Amoako on July 1, adding a midfielder with Bundesliga exposure and experience outside Germany’s top flight. His latest return could now help him compete for a greater role in Hamburg’s squad. However, he may need time to rebuild his rhythm after his recent absence.

Amoako’s record shows two Bundesliga appearances, both recorded in the 2023-24 season. His return to team training marks an important first step toward contributing regularly for HSV.
