Ghanaian defender Maxwell Woledzi has been crowned Player of the Year at Norwegian side Fredrikstad for 2025 following a standout campaign.

The 24-year-old capped off an outstanding campaign with 37 appearances across competitions for his outfit, earning praises for his consistency and leadership at the back.

Woledzi played a central role in Fredrikstad’s impressive campaign, guiding the club to its first Norway Cup title in 18 years and earning a well-deserved place in the Eliteserien Team of the Year. His performances throughout the season made him one of the league’s standout defenders.

The former FC Nordsjaelland and Vitoria Guimaraes B centre-back joined Fredrikstad in 2023 on a contract that runs until December 2026. Since arriving in Norway, he has grown into a key figure for the club, with his strong aerial ability, reading of the game, and calm presence contributing to their recent success.

Woledzi’s current market value is estimated at €2.2 million, and interest in the Ghanaian continues to rise. Major League Soccer side Nashville SC are reported to have tabled an offer, which Fredrikstad are expected to review in the coming days as clubs monitor his situation closely.
