Gervinho Addresses Absence from AS Roma Pre-Season Amid Transfer Rumors
Gervinho’s absence from AS Roma’s pre-season training camp in the United States sparked immediate speculation about his future at the Italian club. The former Lille and Arsenal winger, who is yet to finalize a contract extension with Roma, was the subject of transfer rumors following his unexplained absence.

Posting on his official Facebook page, Gervinho explained: “If I’m not traveling with the team, it’s to resolve personal issues here in Abidjan. I have the club’s permission for that. I will join my teammates soon.”
Signed by Roma last summer from Arsenal, Gervinho quickly became a vital player under manager Rudi Garcia, impressing with his pace and creativity on the wing. His form also carried into the international stage, where he was arguably Ivory Coast’s standout performer at the 2014 World Cup, netting two goals for the national team.
