Waldemar Anton will miss Germany’s upcoming international fixtures after suffering a muscle problem, according to Sky Sport Germany.
The Borussia Dortmund defender was injured during his side’s 2-1 victory over Elversberg on Saturday. Dortmund have not yet confirmed how long Anton is expected to be unavailable.
The injury comes shortly before Germany begin their November international break and continue their UEFA Nations League group-stage campaign. Julian Nagelsmann’s side are due to face Serbia and the Netherlands in their fifth and sixth Group B matches.
Germany are third in the group with five points from four games, having recorded one win, two draws and one defeat.
Anton, who has made 17 appearances for the senior Germany team, has yet to score or provide an assist at international level.
