German forward of Senegalese descent, Leroy Sane, has completed his move to Turkish Super Lig club Galatasaray.
The Turkish giants announced the signing of the attacker in an official statement on Thursday, June 12.
“Leroy Aziz Sané, with whom we started transfer talks, came to Istanbul,” Galatasaray announced.
Speaking in his first interview, Sane shared his excitement and expressed appreciation to the management of the club for doing everything to secure his services.
“First of all, I am incredibly happy. I cannot describe my happiness. I can hear the fans right now, which is a very different feeling. In short, I have to say that I am incredibly happy to be here,” Leroy Sane said as quoted on the Galatasaray website.
He continued, “I played here before. It was an incredible atmosphere, an incredible environment. Frankly, there were a lot of fans and they were very vocal against me. I am very happy that they will be behind me now and I am very excited to play in front of Galatasaray fans in my first match here. First of all, I am very grateful to them. It is really important to come here at this hour. It means a lot to me. That is why I am grateful to them. I am very happy to meet them, to be with them. I thank them very much.”
Leroy Sane, 29, has joined Galatasaray with immediate effect and leaves Bayern Munich on a free transfer.
